Volunteer Information

Help animals in North Eastern Ohio by helping us. We need people to volunteer their time and effort in order for Forgotten Animal Shelter (FAS) accomplish its goals. As our organization grows, so does the number of tasks to be accomplished that are necessary to build and maintain a no-kill, no-time limit animal shelter.

Fundraising Opportunities

This is a very exciting time for us. In a very short time, we procured our land (12 acres in Litchfield, OH). This was only possible through the hard work and determination of the members and volunteers of FAS. The number of events we hold and the amount of income generated by our organization increases every year.

Without our members and volunteers devoting time and energy into planning and working at these events, our success would not have been possible.

If you are interested in helping with any of our fundraising events or if you have an idea about a new event, please complete our "Signup to Volunteer" form and email it back to us. You will be added to our growing list of volunteers. During the scheduling phase of our event planning, you will be contacted by our volunteer coordinators to ask you to work at the event. You will also receive emails about our upcoming events and other information pertaining to Forgotten Animal Shelter.

Forgotten Animal Shelter funds come not only from our fundraising events but from a variety of other sources such as:

Donations
Donation boxes: Volunteers are needed to help build our donation boxes, place the boxes at businesses and collect the money from the boxes.
Private and corporate monetary donations: Volunteers are needed to help solicit for funds from both the private and corporate sector.
Goods and services: During many of our events, we need donated merchandise to sell (i.e., yard sale, Holiday Boutique). Help is needed to arrange for the pickup or drop off of this merchandise and getting it ready to sell by pricing it. We also hold raffles throughout the year which require the donation of goods and/or services. During some events, we need supplies to help run the event (i.e., food, paper products, decorations, etc.). Volunteers are needed to help procure all of these items.
Grant Writing: Our largest funds will come as a result of our grant writing efforts. We encourage all that have experience in applying for grants to contact us. Our primary focus, in the area of grant writing, is to locate grantors who focus on capital expenditure grants. It is projected that our shelter will cost no less than $3 million to construct. We seek individuals or companies that specialize in grant writing that are willing to help us for a nominal or "no cost" fee.

Committees

Do you like to work behind the scenes? Involvement with one of our many committees is a way you can help FAS. Whether you want to help formulate the guidelines for the shelter's ongoing operation, help spread the word about FAS through advertising and publicity, plan or coordinate fundraising events, plan educational programs, you will find that we have a wide variety of committees to choose from that will benefit from your help.
